Job Description – Taproom & Kitchen Cook
We are looking for a part-time or full-time Cook at our established Sea Legs Brewing Taproom based in Kangaroo Point. This industrial warehouse houses our full brewery production facility along with our Taproom and Kitchen which operates 7 days a week.
Our kitchen at Kangaroo Point offers Modern North American cuisine with an ever-evolving offering and a critical focus on quality and consistency. We are continually developing our offering in line with trends of the world, maintaining classic styles, and working with house made ingredients.
We are on the hunt for a key contributing team member in the daily execution of our kitchen operation as we execute our authentic and high quality, Modern North American menu that falls in line with our values. We are looking for people who are passionate about cooking, take pride in their work, understand the importance of efficiency and can thrive in a fast-paced operation. The ideal candidate has the following relevant experience and will carry those corresponding duties;
• Proven experience in a similar role and similar sized venue (200+ pax)
• A passion for Modern North American cuisine, the inner workings of a kitchen, the process and above all, quality
• The ability to assist in general kitchen operations including stock control, stock rotation, ordering, portion control & consistency
• An effective ability to communicate with leadership, fellow Kitchen staff and FOH staff
• Understand the importance of maintenance and timely communication
• Ensure compliance with all aspects of food safety requirements and general workplace health & safety
• An interest in the brewing process, craft beer and our tight knit independent industry
